Dilute Phase – Positive Pressure
The simple positive pressure system is the most elementary of all the pneumatic conveying systems with the product being totally suspended in the air stream. These systems generally comprise a blower or fan delivering air into the pipeline, a feed device to entrain the product into the conveying air and a filter or air separator to remove the product from the air at the receiving hopper.
Positive pressure systems are generally used to convey a product from a single entry point to one or more destinations. The positive system requires minimum air volume to convey a given amount of product. Material can be conveyed over relatively long distances using the positive pressure system. When required, step line conveying systems can be employed to provide relatively constant conveying velocities to minimize product degradation during the conveying process.Conveying pressures up to 1.0 bar Low product/air ratio, generally up to 15:1 Conveying velocities 15 to 25 m/s Complex systems conveying to multiple delivery points possible using diverter valves Closed loop conveying and low velocity conveying systems Conveying Capacity: Range depends upon material characteristics like bulk density, particle size, moisture content etc
